Air flow Lanka was set up by the Government of Sri Lanka in This summer 1979 following closure of Air Ceylon in 78. Initially, the newest air jar operated 2 Boeing 707 jets in lease from Singapore Airlines, although Air Lanka ended up keeping the Boeing 707s, which were acquired in 1979, whilst a Boeing 737 was acquired for shorter paths.[10] During the eighties, the airline increased the amount of destinations served and made additions to its navy. During the mid-1980s the aircarrier operated two Boeing 747-200 aircraft into a number of Western european destinations. By simply 1990, Atmosphere Lanka was serving dua puluh enam destinations. The airline's fantastic aircraft was the Lockheed L1011 Tristar, which will served the airline coming from 1980 to 2000. In December 1992, the airline purchased it is first Airbus A320.
