In ‘Of mice and men' Curley's wife's second appearance in Crooks' space, the reader finds out why Curley's wife acts as such a temptress, and begins to experience sympathy to get the character if it is discovered the girl with in fact really lonely. We learn that she uses flirting and seduction as a method of increasing attention and spending time with the men. The girl uses the excuse to look for Curley to look for some business, but then slides up, admitting she recognized where Curley had genuinely went. The girl then starts to become more hostile when they request her to leave, declaring ‘Think I don't like to talk to somebody ever before once in a while? ', ‘Think I love to stick in that house alla time? ' She also begins to snap back on the men and flares up, throwing individuals insults, calling them " bindle stiffs" and confesses again with her loneliness simply by asking himself why she's even discussing with them.

The boys judge her as " a tart, " and ample assisting observations are offered. She's rude, selfish and often viciously inappropriate. She has no kind expression for anyone.
