During this example we will be utilising two hypotheses to understand the behaviours of an individual named Alistair. Alistair is 17 years old and originates from Ayrshire. He attained Stepdown about 01/06/2011 following it was made a decision that this individual no longer fulfilled the criteria to get held in protected accommodation, even so still necessary supervision. Alistair is held under Section 70 with the Children (Scotland) Act 1995, where the " child probably will injure him self or some additional person unless he is kept in these kinds of accommodationвЂќ (Children (Scotland) Take action 1995). Alistair's self damaging behaviour escalates when he feels under pressure on when in a new environment. He continues to be known to the Social Job Department since a young era and has been in a residential care establishing since 2006. He features contact with his mother, grand daddy and his sociable worker. He has a very good relationship along with his grandfather, though the relationship along with his mother could be strained. He had a the child years filled with turmoil where he was exposed to physical violence towards his mother on a regular basis.
The two hypotheses we will be serves to help appreciate Alistair's behaviours are Erikson's Lifespan Theory and Bandura's Social Learning Theory.
The Lifespan Theory is based on the psychodynamic way of psychology and believes that a person's advancement occurs over their entire lifespan. Erikson developed his theory which split the lifespan into eight secrets areas where different types of development takes place. The initially six phases occur from birth to early 20's. Alistair uses self trouble for gain some control over his life and circumstances. According to Erikson, this is due to the influences he knowledgeable during Later Infancy.
